Some of us are staying at home this Summer because of work or other responsibilities. Let’s be honest, Summer in England is really not the best with all the patchy spells of weather. One day it rains, the next day it’s 26 degrees and sunny. You can’t plan ahead and 90% of the time it rains unexpectedly. But what can we do? Well, we came up with a great idea! Why not bring the tropical holiday destination you’re dreaming of to your home? It’s easier than you think and you don’t have to change your whole interior either. There are so many different ways to redecorate your home and give it more of a tropical feel. Adding smaller items like carpet, curtains, pillows, pictures and bedding to your home would be a start. In this issue, we’ll show you how to make the most of the rare Summer days in England!
Here are 7 ways to transform your home into a holiday destination for you and your family:
-
Add some tropical plants:
If you’re looking for the easier option, then we’d advise you to buy some small plants such as Palm Trees, Fern, Bromeliads, Orchids or even some Bamboo. Plants will freshen up your home and make it feel more lively and comfortable.
-
Colour scheme:
Which colours remind you of a sunny holiday on a tropical island? Opt for colour schemes such as light shades of brown, white, blue and green and if you like shiny items, then add some gold or copper to it.
-
Holiday accessories:
We recommend some easy-to-add items such as pictures of exotic holiday destinations, seagrass carpet, lamps and pillows with animal or floral prints. Even shower curtains or bedding with an attractive palm tree print would be a great addition too. Wooden accessories are great too! If you don’t have any outdoor furniture for your balcony or garden at the moment, we do recommend rattan furniture, they match up with and compliment most themes for your home.
-
Sunlight:
Make sure enough light is coming into your home for the authenticity of the theme. Remove any dark curtains and you’ll see the difference straight away. As most people would say, sunshine brightens up your mood!
-
Cocktails, Fruits & Music:
Finally to round up the holiday mood, put some good music on, get yourself some tropical fruits and make yourself a well deserved Pina Colada after all this decorating!
