How to seal a natural stone floor

All natural stone tiles need to be sealed with an impregnating sealer such as Lithofin MN Stainstop. Natural stone will act like a sponge to varying degrees, depending on how dense it is so it is important to put as much sealer into the stone as it will take. Some sealer should generally be applied before the floor is grouted and the rest afterwards. It is important to ensure that the tiles are completely dry, clean and stain free. The sealer should be applied using a clean cloth, according to manufacturers’ recommendations. It is most important that all the Lithofin MN Stain-Stop is absorbed into the tile. Any excess sealant should be wiped off before it is allowed to dry on the surface.
